The Institute serves as a bridge between the Ticino industrial fabric and the academic world on issues related to mechanical engineering and materials technology.
Around these questions, we also act as a point of contact for the development of multidisciplinary projects (an offer particularly appreciated by our industrial partners), thus promoting the involvement, if necessary, of other research groups. within SUPSI. We also believe that the contribution of our institute can be particularly relevant to SUPSI’s unifying theme, that of sustainable development, towards which we wish to direct our research activities.
The Institute has several laboratories that carry out applied research activities and for educational purposes in the bachelor’s and master’s degree courses offered by the Department of Innovative Technologies. The collaboration is mainly based on the development of innovative projects through third-party, cantonal, federal or European funding. Services are also offered on request and we take care of direct mandates.
